Landlord Boot Camp: The ABC’s of Residential Landlord Tenant Law

Seminar for Apartment Association of Southeastern Wisconsin (AASEW) – Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm at the Clarion Hotel located at 5311 S. Howell Avenue in Milwaukee. Topics to be covered include but are not limited to: screening potential tenants, drafting legal screening criteria, Fair Housing issues, rental documents, causes for eviction, notices terminating tenancy, the judicial eviction process, ATCP 134, collection of judgments (including garnishments), late fees, abandoned property issues and more. Howell Ave. I will be speaking for 45-60 minutes on landlords' responsibility to provide a habitable rental unit, local laws regarding insect infestations and landlords' responsibilties regarding same, and how landlords can best prevent/protect/prepare themselves for bed bug litigation. Additional speakers will speak on identification of bed bugs, control of bed bugs and there will be a Bed Bug Canine Scent Detection demonstration.
