Attorney at Law

gkoch@pettit-law.com

Gary D. Koch primarily focuses his practice on landlord-tenant law, having represented landlords and property management companies throughout Wisconsin for over 15 years. Almost the entirety of Gary’s legal career has been spent handling debtor and creditor matters, and he brings that extensive experience to bear for clients with both residential and commercial properties.

Gary also consults with landlords and management companies on “best practices,” has handled Fair Housing (discrimination/retaliation) claims and building code orders, as well as the defense of Wisconsin Administrative Code - ATCP 134 violations and compliance investigations. His expertise with the United States Bankruptcy Court allows him to assist clients through the complex interplay of landlord-tenant and bankruptcy law, including Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and associated litigation.

In addition to regularly drafting posts on Tristan’s Landlord-Tenant Law Blog, Gary has been a frequent presenter at local Landlord associations and is a proud board member of the Kenosha Landlord Association.

Gary is licensed to practice in all Wisconsin state courts, the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin Federal Courts, and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
